What this is

AI Career Observatory is an observatory of the AI labor market. We track job postings from AI-sector employers' own public career pages, normalize them into a role taxonomy, extract skill demand, and publish live market data plus original research.

How the data is collected

Jobs come only from public employer career pages served through public ATS APIs (Greenhouse, Lever). Boards are re-verified on a rolling cycle. Every job stores when it was first seen, last seen and last verified — job pages show the verification time honestly.

How roles are classified

Exact job titles are matched against pattern rules for 30 canonical roles (with aliases). We analyze what jobs ask people to do, not just their titles — related titles like Forward Deployed Engineer, FDE and Deployment Engineer cluster together without being merged. Details in the methodology.

How salary data works

Only ranges printed in job postings themselves. No estimates from titles, no scraped self-reported data, no manufactured medians. When the sample is too small, pages say "not enough data yet".
